A Greenport man was accused of boating while intoxicated after his vessel hit a jetty early Saturday, Southold Town Police said.

Herbert D. Israel, 23, was operating his boat east out of Greenport Harbor when it struck the jetty about 2:41 a.m.

Police took Israel to Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport for treatment of a head injury. There were three other men -- all in their 20s -- in the boat, but police didn't have details on whether they sought medical treatment.

Israel was awaiting arraignment on the misdemeanor charge.
