A Greenport man police called "highly intoxicated" was arrested and charged with smashing the rear window of a woman's car Sunday night, Southold Town police said.

Eric Heiman, 44, of Greenport, was arrested at his home after the 9:15 p.m. incident, police said. Police said the victim, identified as Angel Cordes, 50, of Greenport, said that Heiman had "smashed out the rear window of her car" and that police went to Heiman's home, where they found him intoxicated.

He was charged with criminal mischief and resisting arrest. Police said he faces arraignment on Monday.
