A worker at a Wyandanch recycling yard found an inoperative military-type grenade Thursday morning, Suffolk County police said.

“It was safely removed and not a threat,” a police spokeswoman said. The worker found the device about 7:30 a.m., the spokeswoman said.

A live grenade was found at the same Alder Street yard, Omni Recycling of Babylon, on Nov. 19. The facility was briefly evacuated while police detonated it.
