Police responded to a call of shots fired outside a West Babylon bar early Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.

When Suffolk County police officers arrived at Maggie's Bar on Straight Path at about 3:13 a.m., they couldn't find a victim or the shooter.

However, a short time later, Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip reported a gunshot victim was seeking medical attention.

Police determined that the victim, who had been shot twice in the left calf, appeared to be the victim of the shooting at the entrance to the bar's parking lot. The man, who was not identified, had taken himself to the hospital, police said.

The investigation is continuing.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-220-TIPS.
