Hampton Bays woman charged with drunken driving
A Hampton Bays woman was driving drunk when she crashed her pickup into a car in Hampton Bays Sunday, police said.
Southampton Town police arrested Barbara Schneider, 49, at about 6:10 p.m. after she made a left turn onto eastbound Montauk Highway. Police said Schneider's 2008 Dodge pickup collided with a 2011 BMW that was traveling east.
Police said after hitting the BMW Schneider drove to a nearby parking lot where she attempted to leave her vehicle.
She is charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. She is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at Southampton Town Justice Court.
