Hamptons anti-bias task force forum scheduled for July 13
The League of Women Voters of the Hamptons has planned a July 13 forum on the role of the anti-bias task forces in Southampton and East Hampton towns.
Representatives of the two towns' task forces are to speak at the event about how their groups work to combat discrimination and prejudice. Each town's task force serves as a liaison among residents, religious institutions, schools, police and government on issues of discrimination and prejudice.
East Hampton Anti-Bias Task Force chairwoman Rosa Scott and town board liaison Sylvia Overby are to represent East Hampton. Southampton Anti-Bias Task Force co-chairs James Banks and Susan Jennings are also scheduled to speak. A question-and-answer session is to follow.
The forum is to begin at 7 p.m. at the Hampton Library on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton.
