Hilton Garden Inn fire injures 4, Suffolk officials say

Four people were injured, one of them hospitalized, in an early morning laundry room fire Friday at a hotel in Ronkonkoma, Suffolk County fire officials said.

The fire at the Hilton Garden Inn on Veterans Memorial Highway was reported by automatic alarm at 12:36 a.m.

Fire officials said firefighters from Bohemia and three other departments responded to find a fire in the hotel laundry room and smoke conditions in the building.

One person was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue with undisclosed injuries. Two others refused medical treatment at the scene, officials said.

One firefighter was also treated for unspecified injuries.

The cause of the fire was unknown.

Officials said firefighters were on scene about two hours.
