A homeless man was arrested Friday and charged with committing burglaries at two East End stores, Southold police said.

John F. Greene, 42, was charged with two counts for third-degree burglary. He was arraigned in Southold Justice Court, police said.

On Friday morning, police were called to Angels Country Store on Main Road in East Marion after employees discovered a break-in about 5 a.m. The crime was caught on a video security camera, and an officer on patrol spotted a man matching the suspect's description walking near Hortons Lane in Southold about 6:50 a.m.

Greene, described by police as homeless, allegedly had items taken in the burglary in his possession. Police were also able to link Greene to another break-in on July 21 at Country Petals, a store on Route 25 in Peconic, police said.
