Beachgoers and park visitors, get your summer on.
Hot, humid weather is expected across Long Island through the weekend, with temperatures reaching into the mid-90s in Nassau and western Suffolk on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday is expected to be slightly cooler, especially on the East End, with plenty of sunshine. NWS meteorologist Brian Ciemnecki said a dew point of about 60 on Saturday will make the air feel a few degrees warmer.
"It's going to be stuffy, and it's going to be hot," he said.
Humid, hot weather conditions could generate a thunderstorm in the area overnight Saturday and Sunday, although chances of rain are low.
Monday is expected to be another hot day with a possible high of 90 degrees. Cooler temperatures are predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday.
There is a moderate rip-current risk Saturday on south-facing beaches. No heat advisories are expected on Long Island over the weekend.
