Rescuers cut apart a North Amityville home Thursday night to help a woman stuck in the basement and unable to leave for medical treatment because of her weight, Suffolk police said.

The 35-year-old woman called 911 from a home on Rosewood Avenue, complaining of chest pains. She lives in the basement and medics who responded couldn't get her out, police said.

At least five rescue agencies were involved in the operation, which entailed cutting out a wall of the home to take her to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip.

Her chest pains were not life-threatening, police said, but her condition was not available last night.
