Fire in South Huntington home sends one person to the hospital, official says

The Suffolk County Police Department is investigating a South Huntington house fire that left one person in the hospital on Friday evening, according to an agency spokeswoman.
The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to a blaze on Pidgeon Hill Road around 8:39 p.m., Suffolk County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services officials told Newsday. Seven mutual aid fire departments also responded to the scene and the fire was considered knocked down as of 9:32 p.m., FRES officials said.
One person was transported to Huntington Hospital with minor injuries, according to a Suffolk County police spokeswoman who said arson detectives were still investigating the house fire.
The Suffolk police spokeswoman did not have any additional information regarding the fire. FRES and the Huntington Manor Fire Department did not immediately return Newsday's call for more information on Saturday morning.
