A Huntington Station man died on Tuesday after he apparently suffered a medical event and ran his car into a tree, Suffolk police said.

Robert Manigaulte, 59, was driving his 2005 Chrysler Town and Country south on Woodbury Road just south of Carley Avenue in Huntington when he suffered an emergency around 4 p.m., police said.

Police said Manigaulte crossed over to the opposite side of the road and hit a tree. He was taken to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to officials.

Suffolk police impounded Manigaulte’s car and are continuing to investigate.
