Police are investigating a crash Thursday night in Huntington Station that killed a pedestrian.

Suffolk County police said a man was driving a 2010 Honda Civic southbound on New York Avenue around 9:35 p.m. when the car struck a pedestrian in the roadway just south of Church Street. The victim, who has not yet been identified by police, was transported to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver and his female passenger were not injured, police said. The car was impounded for a safety check and no charges have been filed.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call Second Squad detectives at 631-854-8252.
