Town to name field after ex-Jet

Town of Huntington officials will name a playing field in a Huntington Station park in honor of a former New York Jets star player and town employee.
Tomorrow the turf football field at Manor Field Park will be named for Emerson Boozer.
Boozer was a running back on the New York Jets’ only championship team, which won Super Bowl III in 1969.
In 2015 he was inducted into the Jets Ring of Fame.
Boozer went on to spend almost 20 years as the town’s parks and recreation director before retiring in 2005. In 2010, he was appointed to the Environmental Open Space and Park Fund Review Advisory Committee, and is still a member.
The ceremony, with Boozer and possibly some other former Jets, will be at 11:30 a.m. at the park at East Fifth Street between Park Avenue and Lenox Road. The public is invited.
