A Huntington woman pulled over for an unsafe lane change Saturday in East Islip faces a drunken-driving charge, State Police said.

Around 11:45 p.m., a trooper stopped a gray Honda for an unsafe lane change on the southbound side of the Heckscher Spur, south of Exit 45 of the Southern State Parkway, according to a State Police news release issued Monday.

As the driver, Kristen Tempera, 24, was being interviewed, troopers said they detected an "odor of alcoholic beverage."

Tempera failed sobriety tests, police said, and was arrested. She recorded a breath-analyzer reading of 0.25 percent, more than three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent, police said.

She is charged with DWI and traffic violations and is scheduled to return to First District Court in Central Islip on Feb. 23.
