Cops: Man wearing surgical mask robs Nesconset bank

Suffolk County police are searching for a man who wore a blue surgical mask while robbing a Nesconset bank late Tuesday morning.
The robber demanded money from a teller at a Capital One Bank branch on Smithtown Boulevard at 10:55 a.m., stating he had a gun. It was not immediately clear whether a gun was seen.
Police said the teller complied, handing the man cash before the robber fled on foot. It was not clear how much cash was taken.
Police said the man was about 5-foot-10 with a medium build and is believed to be in his 30s or early 40s. He wore a wool hat, dark sunglasses, a dark sweatshirt, dark pants, white sneakers -- and a blue surgical mask, police said.
