'Incendiary device' thrown through North Amityville home window, Suffolk police say
An "incendiary device" was thrown through an open, bedroom window of a North Amityville home not long after midnight Wednesday morning, Suffolk police said.
Four people were inside the Benburb Street home but no one was in the first-floor bedroom when someone threw what may have been a Molotov cocktail about 12:45 a.m., police said.
No fire was started and arson detectives are on the case, police said.
Detectives cited the ongoing investigation in declining to release other details, including a description of what was thrown and whether someone in the house was targeted.
Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
