Suffolk County police have identified a pedestrian who was struck by a car and seriously injured Dec. 1 as a Melville man.

Vicenzo Gravinese, 63, was attempting to cross Clay Pitts Road west of Cherub Court and Meredith Drive in Greenlawn at about 9:08 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound 2012 Honda Odyssey, police said.

Gravinese was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. The Odyssey’s driver, Gigi Franklin, 54, of Greenlawn, was not injured and remained at the scene.

Police impounded the vehicle for a safety check.
