The Town of Islip has added a free, live performance of the classic musical "West Side Story" with a full 42-piece orchestra on Saturday to its summer calendar.

The event, performed by the Plaza Theatrical troupe of Lynbrook, is scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Holbrook Country Club, 700 Patchogue-Holbrook Rd.

The town's Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs has several more free outdoor events scheduled for the rest of the summer.

On Aug. 6, the '70s cover band Billboard Live will perform at 7:30 p.m. at Hidden Pond Park on Terry Road in Hauppauge.

On Aug. 13, the town and the Brentwood Association of Concerned Citizens are hosting a showing of the movie "Annie" at Massachusetts Park at 7:30 p.m.

On Aug. 20, the town and the Islip Chamber of Commerce are hosting a screening of "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" in the back field of Town Hall West, 401 Main St. in Islip.

On Aug. 27, the movie "The Wizard of Oz" will be shown at the Holbrook Country Club at 7:30 p.m.

On Sept. 3, Chip Bryant will present a mime and magic show at Casamento Park on Higbie Lane in West Islip at 7:30 p.m.
