Bay Shore man dies in motorcycle accident, cops say

A Bay Shore man was killed early Saturday morning when his motorcycle crashed in East Farmingdale and he struck a pole, Suffolk County police said.
James Barnett, 18, was riding his 2006 Honda motorcycle at 2:40 a.m. when he attempted to make a left turn from Central Avenue onto New Highway heading south, police said.
Barnett lost control of the motorcycle and hit a metal light signal support pole, detectives said.
He sustained a serious head injury and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage where he was later pronounced dead.
The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.
