Police: Motorcyclist killed in East Hampton crash
A motorcycle crash took the life of an East Hampton man Wednesday, East Hampton Town police said.
Police said Jefferson D. Eames, 53, was riding a 2011 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Accabonac Road when he veered off the roadway and struck a tree near Banks Court just after 6:40 p.m. Eames was taken by East Hampton Ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, where police said he died from his injuries.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing and police are asking anyone with information to call them at 631-537-7575.
