Suffolk police at the scene after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the William Floyd Parkway in Shirley at 9:10 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015. Credit: James Carbone

A pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck and killed Friday morning at an intersection on the William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, Suffolk police said.

Jessica Chaimowitz, 30, of Shirley, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Chaimowitz "crossed into the path of a northbound pickup truck" driven by Scott Ferrari, 41, of Shirley, who was not injured, police said.

Northbound William Floyd was reopened about 12:20 p.m. by Roberts Road after the 9:10 a.m. accident, police said.

No charges were filed, police said.
