A Bohemia woman has been charged with stealing from two jewelry stores in June, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Joanna Martinez, 29, was located after Suffolk County Crime Stoppers issued a Crime Alert asking for the public's help in identifying the woman who entered Jenna's Jewelers in Deer Park on June 13 and stole four white gold engagement rings.

Following up on multiple tips, First Squad detective Thomas Corso identified the suspect as Martinez, of 855 Walnut Ave., police said. She was arrested Tuesday at her home at 2:40 p.m. with the help of Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers, police said.

A further investigation revealed Martinez also stole several pieces of jewelry from Remember Yesteryears in Oakdale on June 21, police said.

Martinez was charged with third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree grand larceny. She is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
