A Port Jefferson Station couple was seriously injured when they were hit by a minivan Saturday night as they left a Greek Orthodox festival in Greenlawn, Suffolk County police said.

Joanna Rigas, 80, and her husband, Andrew Rigas, 84, were walking across Pulaski Road near Shrine Place when they were struck by a Kia Sedona minivan heading east about 10:10 p.m., police said.

The Rigases were leaving the Greek Orthodox Fair at the St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Shrine Church on Pulaski Road. The couple was in serious condition and airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.

The driver of the minivan, Ralph Serpico, 82, and his wife, Rose, 79, were not injured. Their minivan was impounded for a safety check, and the crash remains under investigation, police said.
