Police: East Hampton men face drug charges after traffic stop
Two East Hampton men face felony drug charges after authorities found them in possession of 6 ounces of cocaine during a routine traffic stop Wednesday on Route 114, East Hampton Town police said.
Juan P. Porras, 48, and Jose Jaime Restrepo-Perez, 41, are each charged with first-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies.
Each faces additional drug charges as part of an ongoing investigation by East Hampton Town police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's East End Drug Task Force, according to a news release.
Police said in the release the two are responsible for the distribution of cocaine in the East Hampton community but did not elaborate.
Porras, of 82 Richardson Ave., and Restrepo-Perez, of 63 Woodbine Dr., are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at East Hampton Town Court.
