A Noyack woman accused of assaulting her 14-month-old daughter's nanny is prohibited from contacting the woman, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Laura Bowery-Falco, 44, an equestrian trainer, did not speak during the hearing in Southampton Town Justice Court.

Town Justice Andrea Schiavoni granted Suffolk prosecutors' request to order Bowery-Falco to stay away from nanny Rebycka M. Williams, 20. Bowery-Falco may have contact with her two children but must refrain from "conduct against" them.

Bowery-Falco pleaded not guilty last week to charges of driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a child under 15 or younger (Leandra's Law), two counts of child endangerment and second-degree harassment.

The charges stem from a July 11 dispute in which the nanny refused to hand over Bowery-Falco's baby daughter because she suspected the mother was drunk, Southampton police said.

Police and court documents allege Bowery-Falco yanked the nanny -- who was holding the baby -- to the ground by the hair and tried to hit her. She then snatched the child and drove to her mother's house "down the street" on Roses Grove Road, police said. Bowery-Falco was intoxicated, police said.

Bowery-Falco's attorney, Edward Burke Jr., said he is "anxiously awaiting" the results of her blood test.

Burke said "officers did not observe her drive the car in any shape or form." He also said Bowery-Falco was not advised of her Miranda rights before police questioning. Southampton police declined to comment.

Asked about the relationship between his client and the nanny, Burke said there "definitely were issues, for sure," and added, "my client left the area to stay safe. Bowery-Falco is a "positive member of the community . . . a very, very dear person, a very good mom," he said.

Bowery-Falco, flanked by three women as she entered the courthouse, declined to comment. She is due back in court Sept. 4.
