A Sag Harbor man was drunk and speeding early Sunday when he drove away from Southampton Town police, then fought with an arresting officer, police said.

Kenneth Arraya, 27, is charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful fleeing from a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and several other vehicle and traffic laws, police said.

Arraya was arrested after a "brief vehicle pursuit," police said.

Driving at a high rate of speed on Noyack Road at about 4:26 a.m., Arraya fled from an attempted vehicle stop, police said.

He was eventually stopped on Peninsula Drive in Sag Harbor, where he "fought with the officer and was eventually subdued," according to a news release.

He was arraigned in Southampton Town Justice Court and remanded to the Suffolk County Jail on $15,000 bail, police said.
