A person was struck and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train late Friday at the Wyandanch train station, according to MTA Police.

The person, whose identity has yet to be released, was struck at about 11:55 p.m. by an eastbound train on the tracks at the west end of the Wyandanch station, said spokeswoman Meghan Keegan.

The person was not authorized to be on the tracks, and police do not believe any criminality is involved, Keegan said.

Another train arrived at 12:30 a.m. Saturday to accommodate customers who were on the earlier train, Keegan said. Other trains were temporarily held at stations and operated at slower speeds, she said.

Regular train service was restored on the Ronkonkoma branch by 1:15 a.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
