Kitchen fire at Yaphank condo under control

Four fire departments were on the scene at a Monday midmorning kitchen fire at a condominium complex in Yaphank, police and fire officials said.

No one is believed to have been injured in the fire at the Whispering Pines condos, officials said. The fire at the building on Bartlett Commons was reported at 10:31 a.m.

Fire officials said it was under control by 11:10 a.m.

Firefighters from Yaphank, Ridge, Rocky Point and the Brookhaven National Lab responded to the scene. Officials said Gordon Heights Fire Department was on standby.

Personnel from Medford Ambulance also responded.
