A landscaper was killed Tuesday morning after being electrocuted and falling from a 16-foot ladder while trimming trees in Hauppauge, Suffolk County homicide detectives said.
Darwin Morales-Martines, 31, of Central Islip, was working outside a home on Richwood Lane at 10:30 a.m. when he accidentally made contact with a power line and was electrocuted, authorities said.
Morales-Martines fell from the ladder and was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
At the time, he was working for P & M Property Management, police said. The company is out of Amityville, according to its website, and does property maintenance.
A message left with the company Tuesday night was not immediately returned.
