The last member of the Patchogue 7 still facing charges will not plead guilty Wednesday, his attorney, Laurence Silverman of Dix Hills, told reporters.

Anthony Hartford, 18, of Medford, was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, but Silverman said he wanted to avoid the crush of media in court to cover Conroy's sentencing.

Hartford is scheduled to return to court June 2, Silverman said.

Hartford's attorney and prosecutors have discussed a plea bargain for weeks, but it was unclear Tuesday whether a deal had been reached.

Hartford has pleaded not guilty to gang assault, conspiracy and other charges.
