LaValle commits faux pas while praising Levy
ALBANY - While his intent was to praise, Suffolk GOP chairman John Jay LaValle created an awkward moment Friday at an event kicking off County Executive Steve Levy's campaign for governor.
In touting Levy's independence from interest groups, LaValle said, "There are no sacred cows in Steve Levy's life - besides Colleen . . . " Colleen West is Levy's wife. Levy laughed while his wife appeared to take it in stride. LaValle did not apologize publicly and could not be reached for comment.
