It's time to pop a cork in Riverhead.

The 2010 Martha Clara Riesling was awarded the Governor's Cup, the top honor, Tuesday by the New York State Wine & Grape Foundation. The wine, which retails for about $20, was chosen from 741 entries submitted by 105 wineries.

The winner of the silver chalice was selected by a 21-judge national and international panel at the promotional organization's gathering upstate in Watkins Glen.
