An accident closed all eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway for about an hour Friday morning in Islandia, officials said.

The accident involved multiple vehicles, according to informny.com, a website of the state Department of Transportation.

The roadway was closed as of 4:30 a.m. between Exit 57, Veterans Memorial Highway, and Exit 58, Old Nichols Road, and reopened about 5:35 a.m., Suffolk County police said.

Police had no further information.
