A morning rush-hour accident closed a portion of the westbound Long Island Expressway in Ronkonkoma for about one hour Monday, causing delays, the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department said.

The crash, which involved an overturned truck, occurred just before 6:30 a.m. near the Ocean Avenue bridge, sheriffs said. The New York State Department of Transportation said the crash, near Exit 59, blocked at least one westbound lane. The road was reopened at 7:29 a.m., the NYSDOT said.

The sheriffs department said one person was injured in the crash and said emergency personnel from the Lakeland Fire Department responded.

However, officials could not say how serious the injuries were -- or if anyone had been transported from the scene.
