Suffolk County police said they are searching for a man with autism who went missing from his Lindenhurst home early Sunday afternoon and is in need of medication.

Police said Anthony Ancona, 34, was last seen at his home on South 9th Street at about 1:30 p.m.

He was described as 5’6” and about 200 pounds, with blue eyes and balding with blond hair, police said.

He was last seen wearing light blue jeans, a blue button-down shirt and blue and white sneakers.

Ancona has autism and also suffers from schizophrenia. But, police said, he left home without his needed medications.

Police have issued a Silver Alert for Ancona and are asking anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to call 911 or First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.
