Montauk train service restored to normal after person hit, LIRR says
The LIRR train from Montauk to Jamaica is running on time after a midmorning incident in which a person was struck by the train, caused a two-hour service delay.
An MTA spokesperson said the person survived the accident that occurred around 11:18 a.m., and was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment. The victim's identity and condition were not released.
The LIRR dispatched buses for affected passengers at the Bridgehampton station and in Southampton.
MTA police are continuing to investigate, the spokesperson said.
