Service on the Ronkonkoma branch of the Long Island Rail Road was restored shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday -- after a stranded tractor-trailer was cleared from the tracks at Executive Drive in Brentwood.

Officials said the incident occurred before 6 a.m., forcing the suspension of all service between Ronkonkoma and Farmingdale. Service was restored at 6:36 a.m., the railroad said.

There were residual westbound delays during the morning commute of up to 30 minutes, west of Hicksville, the LIRR said.

The service suspension affected at least five trains, the railroad said, and said trains were operating with delays of up to 30 minutes after the restoration of service.

During the service suspension, the railroad had advised customers to use trains on the Babylon and Port Jefferson branches as alternates.

At least four westbound trains -- the 4:58 a.m., the 5:29 a.m., the 6:08 a.m. and 6:24 a.m. trains from Ronkonkoma to Penn Station -- and one eastbound train, the 5:11 a.m. train from Penn to Ronkonkoma, were all affected by the incident.

The 5:29 a.m. train was canceled, the railroad said, while the others all were delayed.
