A 21-year-old man sitting on the Wyandanch station platform drinking a beer was struck by an arriving train early Friday, suffering minor injuries to his left knee and ankle, a Long Island Rail Road spokesman said.
Shaun Delaney, who lives in England and was visiting friends in Bayport, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with abrasions to the knee and ankle, according to LIRR spokesman Sal Arena.
Two eastbound trains were delayed about 45 minutes as police investigated, Arena said.
