Woman's body found in Long Island Sound off Lloyd Harbor, Suffolk police say

A woman was found dead Monday evening in the water in Lloyd Harbor, Suffolk police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call regarding "a body floating in Long Island Sound off Lloyd Harbor Road" about 7:45 p.m. the Suffolk County Police Department said in a news release. They discovered the remains of an adult female.

The woman’s identity and cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death, the release said. Police ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
