Unlicensed DWI driver hit bicyclist, cops say
A bicyclist was injured after he was struck by a car driven by an unlicensed drunken driver Monday on County Route 105 in Riverhead, police said.
The accident took place near the Hubbard Avenue bridge at 8:17 p.m., Riverhead police said. Police said the bicyclist, identified as Peter Ryan, was taken by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance to the Peconic Bay Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, identified as Louise Stacey, 71, of Center Moriches, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle,police said.
She was not hurt.
Arraignment details were not immediately available.
