A 73-year-old man died after he fell from a tree while trimming branches in his Lindenhurst yard, police said.

Suffolk police received the call about 3:30 p.m. and went to the Ninth Street home. The 73-year-old, whose identity was not released, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives are investigating the incident, but police said the man's death does not appear suspicious.
