Cops: Man, 81, seriously hurt after driving bicycle into moving car

An 81-year-old man was seriously hurt when he accidentally drove his bicycle into the side of a moving car in Setauket on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

Police said the man, who was not identified, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition. The female driver of the vehicle wasn't hurt and stayed at the scene, police said.

The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet.
