A Middle Island man was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and public lewdness at a Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant in Patchogue Wednesday, police said.

Reynaldo Flores, 46, was at the family restaurant, 121 Sunrise Hwy. at 1:15 p.m., when officers responded to a phone call from adults there. Police declined to elaborate on his alleged actions.

"There were a number of children there, and he was observed by adults," said Det. Lt. Edward Reilly, commanding officer of the Fifth Squad. "He was there with his 7-year-old son, who had nothing to do with it, but as a result of his actions in the restaurant, that constituted endangering the welfare of a child."

Flores has six prior lewdness convictions in Suffolk and Nassau counties and arrests dating back to 1996, police said.

He was scheduled for arraignment Thursday at First District Court, Central Islip.

Detectives asked that anyone with additional information concerning this incident call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552, or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
