A Shirley man is under arrest, charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash that injured a teen Wednesday night in Mastic Beach, Suffolk County police said.
Jordan Magee, 19, of Fairview Drive, was arrested Thursday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
He is scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Central Islip.
Suffolk County police said Magee was driving a 2005 Chevrolet southbound on Mastic Road near Washington Avenue when he struck a 17-year-old male from Shirley just after 9:45 p.m. Police said the teen was walking south on the opposite side of the street when he was hit.
The teen was taken by Mastic Beach Ambulance Company to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where police said he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police did not detail the victim's injuries. His condition was not immediately known.
Police said officers found Magee's car, unoccupied, not far from the accident scene.
