Police investigating a 911 call of an early morning shooting in Ronkonkoma said the victim was not shot -- but said he was assaulted and robbed.

The incident on Pine Avenue was reported as a shooting at 2:45 a.m., Suffolk County police said. Police said an investigation determined the victim had been assaulted and robbed, though police could not immediately say what was stolen because details were still emerging.

Police said the assault victim was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. No one has been arrested and the investigation is continuing, police said.
