Man charged in stabbing on Shinnecock land

A 21-year-old Shinnecock man, accused of stabbing another man in the stomach during a property dispute on tribal land Thursday, surrendered to the police the same day and was held on felony assault and weapon charges.
Daquan Eleazer, of Old Soldiers Road, Southampton, "had a physical altercation with another member of the Shinnecock Reservation over the ownership of property," New York State Police said in a prepared statement. "Mr. Eleazer stabbed the victim in the abdomen and fled the scene."
The victim in the 10:30 a.m. stabbing was treated and released at Southampton Hospital.
Eleazer was held for arraignment in Southampton Town Court, on charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
