Police responding to an accident Tuesday night on the Sunken Meadow Parkway in Commack arrested a Smithtown man on a charge of driving while ability impaired by drugs.

State Police said Eric T. Oldham, 20, was arrested and charged with DWAI/Drugs, as well as seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and traffic violations. Police said Oldham was found in possession of Xanax.

The arrest was made at 10:18 p.m. by troopers responding to a two-car crash on the northbound parkway near Exit SM3A, police said. Police said the crash occurred when the 1999 Pontiac driven by Oldham sideswiped another vehicle.

No one was injured in the accident, police said.

Arraignment information was not immediately available.
