A 23-year-old Sound Beach man was charged with driving while intoxicated after two passengers in his car suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in an early-morning two-car crash Tuesday in Miller Place, police said.

Suffolk County police said Paul Corpas-Reyes was charged with driving while intoxicated after the crash on North Country Road at Echo Avenue at 12:30 a.m.

Police said Corpas-Reyes was driving a Hyundai sedan when he crashed into a Ford Explorer. A man and a woman traveling with Corpas-Reyes in the Hyundai were taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center, police said. The two injured people were not identified by police.

Corpas-Reyes and a passenger in the second vehicle were not injured, police said.

Corpas-Reyes faces arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
