Man charged with selling prescription painkillers
A Hampton Bays man sold prescription pain medicine illegally on three separate occasions, Southampton Town Police said Monday.
James R. Connolly, 30, was arraigned June 29 in Southampton Town Justice Court on three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, a court spokeswoman said Monday. He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on Aug. 22.
Southampton Town Police and the East End Drug Task Force said an investigation that spanned several months revealed Connolly sold prescription painkillers three times, according to a news release.
Connolly was arrested June 29, at the "conclusion of that investigation," the release said.
The East End Drug Task Force includes members of the Suffolk County district attorney's office, Suffolk and East End police departments, State Police and federal agents.
